EshOne – Ups & Downs EP
I’m not even going to write this summary in any other voice than my own. None of the hype, none of the promo… I just thought over the last couple days that this is the time to put out some good dubstep. This is a collection of four tracks that I’ve had a lot of fun playing across the country in the past year or two. All of them require a large sound system. The majority of these tracks were said to be headed to vinyl only… Well, I’ve decided to stick to my guns, and press vinyl only using 100% of the proceeds from Elk Beats digital sales. This means: not dumping a shit load of money into pressing wax because a few people think it would be cool. If you’d love to see Elk Beats vinyl in the future, please support this, and all of our other releases. Once the Elk Beats PayPal account can afford a small run 10″ pressing, we will do it, and it will be awesome. No bullshit. It may seem surprising that we’re not there yet, but think about how often you hear some of these tunes at the club? Not very often. They are special. Chances are, if you’re hearing them, the DJ knows me or one of the artists personally. These are not your lame “bass music” anthems being played by overrated DJs… These are weird. So get weird with us.
This specific EP is available in WAV format (not MP3), because quality music should be played at a quality quality level.

When society became weary of the repetition of daily life, disinterest in basic occurrences, and a depressing loss of community – they left to forge their own path.
The tragic bickering and fighting had gone on for long enough. Society had eroded the sense of community long ago, finger pointing, threats, and apathy must be left behind. We had to leave the city behind in order to grow and evolve. We needed to create a different experience to lead us forward. We could no longer cope with all that had become complacent.
When we arrived in the mountains, an isolated escape from the mundane distractions. We had to decide where we would go from there. Would we embrace the traditional ways of the tribe? Or would we adapt with the tools of technology to push forward?
So too will you have to make a decision – how will you choose? Will you acknowledge your roots or will you embrace your future? Are you ready to become a part of Foundations?

EshOne Live at Reconstrvct X, Brooklyn NY, 19 Jan 2013
This is a recording of my set from Reconstrvct X in Brooklyn earlier this year. There are so many great things about this event, I cannot even begin to name them all… Luke, Scott and the Reconstrvct crew are great dudes, and working with them and the Tsunami Bass Sound System was incredible. Working with Rachel LIVE for the first and only time was beyond cool. No rehearsals, no idea what we were gonna do. I also had the opportunity to play some older tunes that I’ve always left out of my sets due to lack of bassweight on other systems… “Thorax Thursday” was a highlight for me for sure!
Everyone who attended was radiating some serious positive energy and it really made the event something special. I’ve never experienced a crowd receiving my music exactly as I intended, with nothing lost in translation. What an amazing night! Thanks to everyone who was there or wanted to be… If you ever have the chance to experience Reconstrvct, do not miss it.
